My best friend has 2 children,is a disabled mom which one of her children is also disabled,mentally retarded,ADHD and asthmatic. She also has an adult sister in law who is mentally challenged,blind and has sickle cell. She fosters 2 other children which one is her niece and the other is her stepniece. They were taken away from their mother who is her ex sister in law due to abuse to the kids. Her father passed away in 2003 who helped over the years financially so she learned to make do alone. I want to help for the Christmas holidays and as anyone knows its hard for kids to understand when you cannot afford the holidays. At this time presents are really difficult to get for them as she tries to take care of bills. If only you knew my friend,she is the most kindest,loving,thoughtful person I ever met. She did not have to take the children in from CPS but her beliefs is that its not their fault and they need love and a family. This woman has worked when her father was alive since he helped her keep the children. She has never done anything for herself but put the kids first,keep them clean,help them with school,weekly doctors appointments,parent training,prepare their meals,you name it she done it but there is no time for herself. If there is anyone to offer a hand please let me know I would accept anything,gift cards,donations,used items,whatever is offered. Since I am visiting I have pledged to keep her children and have given $100 to start with so she can take time to herself which is my gift to her and in the meantime try to get some more assistance for her.
